The story of wine: kadarka

Kadarka is a… variety of red grapes. Her name sounds like the name of a fairy from a legend of some ancient time. It sounds mysterious, beautiful, attractive, and even - seductive.

And so it is. Wine variety – female, originated a long time ago, say wine sources, somewhere in the south of the Balkans, around Skadar Lake, and its name is Skadar. At the beginning of the 17th century, it was transferred to the Danube region and spread there. That is why some consider it as a Hungarian variety. Whatever it was and where it came from, and its origin is not known precisely, it arouses our interest. Because it’s different.
